UK vs US number ones of 2018

Since the introduction of streaming, the UK charts have become pretty irrelevant to most people and are now not a true reflection of what people are really spending their money on, but it has slowed down the number of songs making number one and songs are hanging around a little longer. The real shame is that the Official Chart Company introduced ACR (accelerated chart ratio) which means if a song’s sale/streams have declined three consecutive weeks then it’s ratio is halved thus helping to drop out of the chart quicker.

Anyway, during 2018, there were 17 UK number ones compared to 15 in the US which is one of the closest it’s been. Here’s the lists.
