Rick Buckler from the Jam is celebrating his 66th birthday this week.
He was born Paul richard Buckler in Woking in Surrey and was the drummer with the Jam from the mid-seventies until they disbanded in 1982.
The following year he formed a new band, Time UK and had one minor UK hit called The Cabaret which stalled at number 63. In more recent tmes he has moved into artist management and has been working with a singer-guitarist Sarah Jane.
Let’s remember their anti-racism number 15 hit from 1978, Down in the Tube Station at Midnight with the train sound effects at the start being recorded at St. John’s Wood station.
