This week both Mark Morriss (vocals) and Ed Chesters (drums) from the Bluetones celebrate their 50th and 51st birthdays respectively.  They formed in west London in 1993 as The Bottlegarden. Their devoted fans are called The Blue Army and they charted 13 UK hit singles between 1995 and 2003. They split in 2011 and reformed four years later.

Let’s remember their biggest hit, a number two from 1996.
