UK singles chart extended

Since March 1960 until this week in 1978 the published UK singles chart was only a top 50. On 13th May 1978 it was extended to a top 75 where it ‘technically’ still remains (the OCC website will show a top 100 for the few who are interested). Below is the number 51 – 75 on the first week and the hightlighted ones are songs that would never be classed as ‘hits’ had the chart not been extended.
